Impact velocities greater than 1100fps could lead to premature expansion, and lessen penetration. The other three, 270 Grain 44 mag., 158 grain heavy 357 mag, 158 grain short-barrel 357 are all best in their class. The 180 grain heavy 357 is more of the same. I don't recommend carrying a 357 in bear country, but the ballistics from this guy are enough to give you a fighting chance.
